Harmonize, a Tanzanian artist, songwriter, and dancer, rose to fame in the African mainstream music scene in the late 2010s with his vibrant fusion of bongo flava and catchy Afro-pop. He is also a multi-instrumentalist and has gained recognition for his hit song “Kwa Ngaru,” featuring Diamond Platnumz, and his expansive 2020 album, Afro East, featuring guest appearances by Yemi Alade and Morgan Heritage.
Also known as Konde Boy, Harmonize made his debut in 2015 with the melodic single “Aiyola” and followed it up with “Bado” in 2016, a collaboration with Diamond Platnumz that earned him a WatsUp Africa Music Video Award for Best African Newcomer Video. He released additional singles like “Happy Birthday” and “Sina,” but it was his 2017 hit “Kwa Ngaru” that served as his breakthrough.
After delivering the club hit “Fire Waist” with Skales and his debut EP Afro Bongo in 2018/19, Harmonize established his own label, Konde Music Worldwide, and collaborated with artists such as Sheebah, Eddy Kenzo, and Phyno. He later released his debut full-length album, Afro East, in 2020. His second album, “HIGH SCHOOL,” features 20 tracks, with each track representing a school subject covering topics such as love, forgiveness, and inspiration. The album sees Harmonize expand his syllabus to include more English language lyrics and features collaborations with artists such as Naira Marley, Sarkodie, Busiswa, Ibraah, and Sholo Mwamba.
